PROBLEM TO BE SOLVED: To provide a magnetic disk device simply suppressing deterioration of a position error due to disturbance caused by vibration from the outside. SOLUTION: In the magnetic disk device, data required for deciding a new filtering characteristic set to a peak filter is acquired during track following control (S3). When next seek control is started, the filtering characteristic to be set to a peak filter 35 is decided (S4). The decided filtering property is set to the peak filter 35 (S5).
