PROBLEM TO BE SOLVED: To provide a control device of internal combustion engine that controls an fuel injection amount using a fuel behavior model of behaviors of fuel after injected from a fuel injection valve, and satisfactorily reduces the calculation load of an ECU, without introducing deterioration of estimation accuracy of a model. SOLUTION: A control device of internal combustion engine includes a fuel injection valve 32 for injecting fuel into an intake port 30. The control device includes a fuel behavior model that takes undersurface of the intake port 30, surface of an intake valve 34, top surface of the intake port 30, and wall surfaces of cylinders into account as adhering areas of fuel. In calculating fuel injection amount, the number of fuel adhering areas to be calculation object is varied depending on operating condition of the internal combustion engine 10.
