PROBLEM TO BE SOLVED: To provide an image forming apparatus capable of acquiring the using situations of all the units in the device, and capable of acquiring instantaneously the life of each component. SOLUTION: The image forming apparatus includes an ID tag 22 mounted on each of the plurality of units and provided with a memory 20 for storing a data, and a planar coil 21 for receiving an electromagnetic wave to generate electric power, for transmitting the data stored in the memory 20 by the generated electric power, and for receiving the data by the generated electric power, to be stored in the memory 20, and a reader/writer 25 provided with a planar coil 24 for emitting the electromagnetic wave, and a reader/writer part 23 for executing reading and writing of the data from/into the memory 20.
