LIQUID CRYSTAL DISPLAY DEVICE AND METHOD FOR DRIVING THE SAME

PROBLEM TO BE SOLVED: To provide a liquid crystal display device capable of controlling a driving voltage to a suitable level in accordance with a temperature change and to provide a method for driving the liquid crystal display device. SOLUTION: The liquid crystal display device is provided with: a liquid crystal display panel 2; a driving circuit for driving the liquid crystal display panel 2 on the basis of an external signal to be supplied from an external signal source 3; a voltage detection means (C-V conversion circuit 6) for detecting voltage to be changed according to the electrostatic capacity of liquid crystal in the liquid crystal display panel 2; a conversion means (VG-T conversion part) for converting the detected voltage to a temperature; a memory (table memory 8) for storing the table of driving voltages for the converted temperatures; and an arithmetic means (arithmetic circuit 4) for controlling the level of a signal supplied from the driving circuit to the liquid crystal display panel 2 while referring to the table stored in the memory.
