PROBLEM TO BE SOLVED: To provide a calking method and a calking mechanism capable of calking a part which cannot be calked by a calking tool. SOLUTION: In a structure having a fitting port 50 as a projecting part in a vicinity of a part to be coupled of a lower tank 20b having a U-shaped profile with a core plate 30 provided to cover its opening part, the part to be coupled is calked by a connection member 60 by allowing a connection member 60 to be inserted between the part to be coupled and the fitting port 50 when assembling the fitting port 50 to the connection member 60.
