PROBLEM TO BE SOLVED: To improve a dimensional precision and a material yield in a forging for rotor blank. SOLUTION: In a method for forging the rotor blank provided with a cylindrical body having a center hole (3) and vane-storing grooves (4) paralleled to the axial line on the outer peripheral part of the cylindrical body, by using a lower die (10) having blade parts (13) for forming vane-storing grooves projected in a forming hole (12), and an upper die (30) for giving a load for forming; in the upper die (30), to the main load for giving to positions except a center pin (16) and the blade parts (13) in the lower die (10), a first sub-load having less than the main load to the center pin (14) and also, a second sub-load having less than the main load to the blade parts (13), are given.
