Disclosed is an air-vented closure for a fluid container The closure has a valve body with first and second spaced fluid conduits and a mounting sleeve in fluid communication with the conduits, the mounting sleeve having an axis therethrough A valve member is positioned in the mounting sleeve for reciprocating movement therein from a closed position to an open position in response to rotatio of the valve member about the axis The valve member has a wall having a first end and an opposed second end, and a third fluid conduit therethrough A portion of the wall is removed to define an air inlet into the third conduit and a second portion is removed for an air outlet When closed the valve blocks fluid flow through the first conduit and the mounting sleeve blocks air flow from the air outlet When in the open position fluid and air can flow.
