The device has a transmission mechanism with a transmission disk rotatably supported around a rotation axis arranged transverse to the shaft. A transmission disk is provided with a guidance contour (6) i.e. groove-like recess, at a lower surface facing a shaft (5). The guidance contour is matched with an pin (40) provided at a shift fork (4) to couple movement of transmission disk and a shift fork with each another so that the shift fork is brought into positions in different switching conditions of a gear through rotation of the transmission disk in different defined positions.
