<p><P>PROBLEM TO BE SOLVED: To provide a coordinate input device and a handwriting input display device for validating the input of coordinates with an operation member such as a pen or an eraser while invalidating the input of coordinates with the hand of a user. <P>SOLUTION: This coordinate input device is provided with a coordinate input region 30 where a plurality of light receiving parts to which the rays of light emitted by a back light 22 of an LCD panel 21, and reflected from a pen or the hand or the like are made incident are arranged like a matrix. When it is considered that the shape of the region touched with the pen is more fixed than the region touched with the hand of a user, the shape of the region touched with the pen is determined as a valid shape, and whether or not the shape formed of the plurality of light receiving parts which have received the rays of light according as the coordinate input region 30 is touched with an object is the valid shape is decided, and when the shape is valid, the input of coordinates is made valid, and when the shape is invalid, the input of coordinates is made invalid. <P>COPYRIGHT: (C)2009,JPO&INPIT</p> |
