Disclosed is a method for producing a polymer electrolyte emulsion comprising the following steps (1) and (2). Step (1): a step for preparing a polymer electrolyte solution having a polymer electrolyte concentration of 0.1-10% by weight by dissolving a polymer electrolyte into a solvent containing a good solvent of the polymer electrolyte. Step (2): a step for mixing the polymer electrolyte solution obtained in the step (1) with a poor solvent of the polymer electrolyte at a ratio of 4-99 parts by weight of the poor solvent to 1 part by weight of the polymer electrolyte solution. Also disclosed is a method for producing a polymer electrolyte emulsion, wherein a polymer electrolyte dispersion obtained by dispersing polymer electrolyte particles into a dispersion medium is subjected to separation by a membrane.
