A secondary battery is provided to prevent movement of an electrode assembly by inwardly indenting the surface of a can, wherein the electrode assembly is inserted, thereby restraining internal resistance from being increased. A secondary battery comprises the following units. An electrode assembly(20) includes a separator(25) placed between a positive plate(21) and a negative plate(23). A can(10) having an indentation part(19) inwardly formed accommodates the electrode assembly. A cap assembly(40) seals the can. An end of the indentation part is in contact with an outer surface of the electrode assembly. The indentation part is formed in a side of the can corresponding to a location of the electrode assembly to be accommodated. |
