A video display apparatus and a method for guiding a route of navigation system for vehicles are provided that operator grasps the route guidance information easily since the route guidance information is actually directly indicated on the real road. A video display apparatus for guiding a route of the navigation system for the vehicles comprises a navigation terminal(10) which receives the position signal from GPS(Global Positioning System) satellites and produces the route guidance information, a distance sensing part(20) which senses the distance between the front vehicles and the forward barrier through the front sensor, a controller(30) which outputs the corresponding control signal to the location information indicating the video information, an image display(40) which actually irradiates the video information in the road in the form of the optical image, and an image display unit(50) in which the motor is run and which actually back controls the display position of the video information.
