A slab edge shape control apparatus and method in strip casting process of a twin roll type caster is provided to improve the quality of slab by imaging the edge of the slab with a camera and controlling the edge dam according to the slab edge shape. A slab edge shape control apparatus in strip casting process of a twin roll type caster comprises an edge dam driving unit(100) which is attached to the edge dam and controls the roll force and upward shift on the edge dam according to the abrasion and upward shift rate of the edge dam, a camera(200) which is installed at the slab exit side of a casting roll and takes a picture of the edge part of a slab, and a control unit(300) which determines the edge part shape from the picture and outputs control signal for abrasion and upstream shift of the edge dam. The edge dam driving unit includes an upward cylinder(101) and an abrasion cylinder(102). The control unit includes a microprocessor(310), an upward shift control part(320), an upward cylinder servo valve, an abrasion controller(330), and an abrasion cylinder servo valve.
