A system and method for renewing the information of DRM(Digital Rights Management) contents for re-purchase and a recording medium where a computer program for implementing the method is recorded are provided to renew the RO(Rights Object) of contents to re-purchase compatible DRM contents. A network computer terminal(10) grasps the available period of compatible DRM contents, and extends the available period of expired contents by using the renewed RO of the contents. A DRM compatible processing system renews the RO by referring to license information of the contents, and then provides the renewed RO to the network computer terminal. The DRM compatible processing system comprises a DRM compatible server(16) and a DRM rights providing server(20). If the renewal of RO is requested from a DRM compatible management device, the DRM compatible server receives the license information of the expired contents. The DRM rights providing server renews the RO by referring to the license information. |
