An apparatus for converting a sub pixel data using a pipe-lined 4 bit dithering module and a converting method thereof are provided to reduce a memory capacity storing a parameter for a gamma correction by correcting a sub pixel data with an error data. An apparatus(100) for converting a sub pixel data includes a gamma correction block(110) and a dithering processing block(120). The gamma correction block corrects an inputted sub pixel data(R). The dithering processing block processes a corrected sub pixel data(ER). The gamma correction block converts the inputted sub pixel data into a first sub pixel data based on a predetermined error data(DR), and includes an error data storage part(112) and an adder(114). The error data storage part stores the predetermined error data indicating a difference of a value of the first sub pixel data. The adder adds the inputted sub pixel data to the error data extracted from the error data storage part, and outputs the first sub pixel data. The dithering processing block includes a first dithering module(122) and a second dithering module(124).
