An apparatus and a method for automatically cobbling a rolling material are provided to prevent the occurrence of miss roll and minimize damage to production line by automatically cobbling the rolled material entering the intermediate mill driven in an alarm mode. An automatic cobbling apparatus of an intermediate mill which operates in an alarm mode in malfunction of the parts, a control part(100) generating control signal, an actuator(45) driving a rolling line which is positioned on the inlet side of the intermediate mill based on the control signal, a cutter(10) for cutting the rolling material entering the intermediate mill into the set length for cobbling.
