In a plastics extrusion- or injection-molding assembly, plastic pellets or grain are fed (1) to a homogenization and heater stage (2) and form (3). The assembly has a control station (5) with a data entry terminal (130) for cost information on the raw material, energy and quantities. One or more process parameters is calculated and displayed in real time e.g. product cycle duration, production costs, raw material and energy cost per production cycle, the batch cost, and the number of cycles remaining to the next maintenance interval. The control system (5) is coupled to a data display (16) of actual values, target values, average values, historical values and long-term trends. Also claimed is a commensurate plastics processing assembly. |
