An armoured garment having an outer textile layer 2 a lining incorporating armour 3 and a belt 20 to tighten the armour. The amour incorporated in the lining may be provided as a single piece or a plurality of pieces which may feature a back section 19 and two front sections 17, 18. The armour may overlap at the front by the tightening of the belt 20. The armour may be incorporated by providing pockets in the lining for receiving the armour plates. The pockets may incorporate the lining as part of its structure or the pockets may be a complete enclosure attached to the lining in only a discrete number of places. The pockets openings may be closable with a sliding clasp fastener or zip. |
