Class 119 In a firearm the butt formed by a rod 7 and shoulder piece 8 Fig. 1 is pivotally mounted at 10 behind the trigger mechanism to permit. it to be folded alongside the stock 2 when not in use and to be secured in lateral positions 7<SP>1</SP>, 7<SP>111</SP>, Fig. 2 at right angles to the line of sight and in a position 7" along the line of sight, a prism or mirror 21 rotatable about a vertical axis being mounted to the rear of the back-sight notch 5 to permit aiming from concealed lateral positions. The rod 7 is secured in various angular positions by means of cam-lever operated latch bolt 11 which engages notches in a disc 9 secured to the rod 7 A handle 14 pivotally mounted at 15 on the stock 2 facilitates the holding of the firearm when in a concealed position and abutment lugs 17 Fig. 3 on the barrel serve to space the latter from, e.g. the corner 19 of a wall, and to hold the firearm steady. The mirror may be folded into a recess 24 when not in use and is secured in various angular positions by means of spring-urged latch bolt 28. |
