A system for providing an advertisement and a monitoring device are provided to supply an advertisement according to a preset time when motion of a subject, fire and an instruction of a user are not generated, thereby increasing usability of the monitoring device. A server(110) provides advertising data according to preset time through a network. A monitoring unit(120) outputs a monitoring signal while monitoring the surroundings of the monitoring unit. The monitoring unit receives advertisement data by connecting to the network and outputs the received advertisement data. The server comprises the following units. A storage unit(111) stores a plurality of AD data. A controller(112) extracts AD data. The extracted AD data are provided for to the monitoring device. An interface unit(113) transmits the extracted AD data to the monitoring device. The interface unit transmits pause request information and resuming request information to the controller. |
