A sealed battery is provided to facilitate the welding between an external terminal and a current collector mounted on a core body of an electrode material. A sealed battery has an external terminal which is formed with a terminal part(193) at one side of a flange part(191) and a cylindrical crimping member(192) at the other side. The cylindrical crimping member is inserted inside an opening formed at respective the first insulating member(211), sealing plate(13), the second insulating member(212) and current collector(181). The cylindrical crimping member is crimped in a diameter-enlarging direction so that the sword-guard portion of the external terminal, the sealing plate and the collector are mechanically-fixed and a thin-walled portion(194) made thinner than other portions formed in a tip portion of the cylindrical crimping member is adhered to the collector, and the thin-walled portion and the collector are welded with a high energy beam. |
