The instrument (10) has an elongated tubular shaft (12) with a distal end (14). An electrical supply line is formed along the shaft via an electrically conductive contact element to a jaw part (16). Another electrical supply line is formed along an axially movable force transmission element (30) via another electrically conductive contact element to another jaw part (18). The former contact element is fixed at an isolating element (32) e.g. cap, surrounding a distal end area of the transmission element, where the isolated element is formed of an insulating material e.g. ceramic material.
