Well logging tool with stand-off sleeve

A logging tool for use in a wellbore comprises a sensor portion, a first sleeve enclosing the sensor portion and made of a material that is transparent to the measurements being made, and one or more stand-off sleeves 28 carried on the logging tool and having grooves 30 to permit fluid flow and ridges to minimise contact between the first sleeve and the wellbore wall or casing. The stand-off sleeve may be removable from the tool and the first sleeve may contain electrically conductive elements. The stand-off sleeve may carry a measurement sensor. The stand-off sleeve may be mounted on the first sleeve.
