A liquid crystal display is provided to prevent the lowering of a decorative design and to suppress the exfoliation of the black painting in an end part of a protective plate when cleaning contaminant or dust on the protective plate. A liquid crystal panel(2) inserts liquid crystal layer between a pair of substrates. A pair of polarizers(3,4) are arranged by inserting the liquid crystal. An organic medium layer is formed in a side opposite to the liquid crystal with regard to one polarizer. A protective plate(1) is formed in a side opposite to the liquid panel with regard to the organic medium layer. A black chromatic layer(14) is formed in the side opposite to the organic medium layer with regard to the protective plate and in the non image display region. An antiglare layer(12) is formed in the side opposite to the organic medium layer with regard to the protective plate. An anti-reflective layer(9) is formed in the side opposite to the organic medium layer with regard to the protective plate.
