A plasma display device and a driving method thereof are provided to smoothly perform a sustain discharge by preventing a delay of the sustain discharge in sustain period and by securing a discharge stability. A plasma display device includes a scanning electrode, an address electrode, a sustain electrode, and a plurality of discharge cells. One frame is divided to a plurality of subfields. In a rising period of a main reset period of a first subfield, voltages of the sustain electrode(X) and the address electrode(A) is sustained into a reference voltage(0V), and a voltage of the scanning electrode(Y) is gradually increased from V1 to Vset. In a falling period of the main reset period, voltages of the address electrode and the sustain electrode is respectively sustained into the reference voltage and Ve, and a voltage of the scanning electrode is decreased from the reference voltage to Vnf. In an address period of the main reset period, a scanning pulse having VscL and an address pulse having Va are supplied to the scanning electrode and the address electrode. In a sustain period, a sustain pulse having a high level voltage(Vs) and a low level voltage is supplied to the scanning electrode and the sustain electrode.
