A medicament inhaler 2 with automatic dosage indexing and presentation includes top 4 and bottom 6 body portions rotatable relative to one another and designed for receiving a medicament cartridge disc 12 comprising a plurality of compartments containing medicament. A medicament extraction spike 14 is located adjacent a compartment. When the user rotates the top and bottom body portions from a storage position to a use position a cartridge compartment is advanced into alignment with the spike and then pierced by the spike to allow medicament inhalation by a user. The spiral torsion spring 16 mounted within drum 18 and in the top portion serves to bias the advance the disc so that the next cartridge is aligned with the spike. Two pins 34 are each secured to the top portion and each is movable between an extended position, in which the respective pin is engageable with a received cartridge so as to limit the cartridge advancement caused by said spring, and a retracted position, in which the respective pin is spaced from a received cartridge so as to not limit cartridge advancement. |
