A perimeter monitoring apparatus and an image display method for vehicle are provided to allow the driver to perceive more accurate distance to the following vehicle and to display the lateral blind spot of the following vehicle when the following vehicle approaches. A perimeter monitoring apparatus(10) for vehicle comprises a first imaging unit(1,2,3) for obtaining a rear view image and right- and left-rear view images, and a second imaging unit taking an image from other viewpoints, a display unit(13) prepared in the vehicle interior, a determination unit(12) which determines whether the blind spot unable to be imaged by the first imaging unit occurs in the lateral side of the following vehicle, and a display control unit(4) which combines the image of the blind spot in the image obtained by the first imaging unit and displays the combined image on the display unit.
