<p>A fluid amplifier includes a housing 2 in the form of a pipe with an inlet 3 and an outlet 4 for the flow to be amplified. An inlet pipe 5 extends into the interior of the main pipe and has a localised port in the form of a slot 6 which has two parallel side walls substantially longer than two substantially parallel end walls.
