A spacer (2) for concrete reinforcement is disclosed. The spacer is integrally formed as a one piece moulding and comprising a central post (2) of cruciform cross-section having at its upper end a seat (4) for the reinforcement and a clip means associated with the seat for retaining reinforcement within the seat. The spacer has a substantially flat base (8) with a central aperture (10), the central post (2) being joined to the base (8) by a pair of divergent beams (12) extending to opposite sides of the aperture (10). A central reinforcing web (14) extending downwardly from the lower end of the post (2) between the beams and connected to the base (8) at opposite sides of the aperture (10) may also be present.
