Substituted benzoxazoles of formula (II) and pharmaceutically acceptable salts thereof that are estrogen receptor modulators and which are useful as estrogenic agents for treating numerous diseases are disclosed, wherein R1, R2, R2a, R3, R3a, and R4, and X as defined in the specification.
