[PROBLEMS] To harvest strawberries twice or more in a year, a treatment for promoting flower bud differentiation (for example, chilling treatment, nitrogen starvation or short-day treatment) should be conducted mainly in summer. In summer, in particular, there arises a problem that fruits grow mature before the sugar content attains a sufficient level and the fruit size is also insufficient. There arises another problem that the fruits cannot withstand transportation over a long distance because of the thin pericarp. [MEANS FOR SOLVING PROBLEMS] A method characterized by transferring pollen from a stamen of Ikeko (variety number 5195 registered with Ministry of Agriculture, Forestry and Fisheries, Japan) to a pistil of Mine-Queen (variety number 12197 registered with Ministry of Agriculture, Forestry and Fisheries, Japan).
