#CMT# #/CMT# The rivet (1) has a tip (2) for piercing a piece to be riveted, and a head (3) receiving an external force for piercing the piece. A body (4) extends from the tip to the head. The body includes two grooves (5) at peripheral surface, where the grooves extend along a longitudinal direction of the rivet. The grooves include a solid portion (6) adjacent to the tip and a receiving zone comprising the grooves along longitudinal direction. The receiving zone includes a structural element separating the grooves from each other. #CMT#USE : #/CMT# Self-piercing rivet for riveting stainless steel piece to fix a handle to a spherical cap of a cooking utensil (claimed) such as frying pan, saucepan and stewpot. Can also be used for riveting metal pieces. #CMT#ADVANTAGE : #/CMT# The structure of the rivet enables the rivet to be used for riveting stainless steel piece without pre-piercing the stainless steel piece. The rivet is provided with grooves such that riveting force is reduced during the penetration of the rivet, thus permitting an operator to reduce forces during maintenance of the pieces in position, and hence improving precision in formation of cooking utensil. The grooves receive the blurs generated during the piercing of the piece, thus preserving aesthetic appearance of the rivet. #CMT#DESCRIPTION OF DRAWINGS : #/CMT# The drawing shows a perspective view of a self-piercing rivet. 1 : Self-piercing rivet 2 : Tip 3 : Head 4 : Body 5 : Grooves 6 : Solid portion.
|
