The blade (10) has an aerodynamic surface (12) extending along an axial direction (14) between a leading edge (16) and a trailing edge (18), and along a radial direction (20) between a root (22) and a tip (24). The surface is made of a composite material, and a metal structural reinforcement (32) is adhesively bonded to the edge (16). The reinforcement extends along the axial direction beyond the edge (16) and in the radial direction between the root and the tip. The reinforcement has a recess for absorbing energy produced from the impact of a foreign body e.g. bird, against the edge (16). |
