FIELD: heating. ^ SUBSTANCE: invention deals with design of contact cooler components (such as ventilator cooler tower diffusers) and may be of relevance in view of providing for the recooling needs of enterprises working in such spheres as chemical industry and power engineering. The cooler tower diffuser has a casing represented by a confuser-diffuser barrel fabricated of a glass material. On the casing outside there are intercrossing reinforcement ribs arranged. The intercrossing reinforcement ribs are hollow inside and have trapezoidal cross-section; they are positioned horizontally and vertically so that to form a meshed structure. The confuser-diffuser barrel is represented by a rotary body. The generatrix of the barrel confuser part surface is formed by a circular arc faired with the cylindrical surface generatrix. The barrel diffuser part is tapered. The tapered surface generatrix is faired with the cylindrical surface generatrix via a circular arc. Radius R1 of the circular arc of the barrel confuser part is equal to 0.6-0.8 of the barrel height. Radius R2 of the circular arc between the cylindrical and the tapered generatrices of the barrel surface is equal to 0.7-0.9 of the barrel height. The angle of the barrel tapered surface generatrix slant relative to the barrel vertical axis varies from 10° to 20°. ^ EFFECT: reduction of aerodynamic resistance in the flow section of the cooling tower diffuser combined with the diffuser structure rigidity enhancement. ^ 2 dwg
