<P>PROBLEM TO BE SOLVED: To provide an image forming apparatus maintaining high image quality printability, and reducing a maintenance cost for a photoreceptor replacing work. <P>SOLUTION: The image forming apparatus 100 includes an arm 251, a solenoid 252 and a position control part 270. The arm 251 is freely operable so as to hold the photoreceptor 222 at an image forming position 250C. The photoreceptor 222 forms the image for a recording medium. The solenoid 252 is freely operable so as to hold an unused stand-by photoreceptor 232 at a supply position 250A. The position control part 270 makes the arm 251 release the photoreceptor 222. Then, the photoreceptor 222 is moved from the image forming position 250C. The position control part 270 makes the solenoid 252 release the stand-by photoreceptor 232. Then, the photoreceptor 232 is moved from the supply position 250A.
