<p><P>PROBLEM TO BE SOLVED: To provide a variable nozzle turbocharger capable of effectively inhibiting hesitant motion of a vane by reducing thermal deformation under a high temperature condition. <P>SOLUTION: The variable nozzle turbocharger is provided with an assembly constructed with integrally joining a shroud plate and a nozzle plate on which a plurality of vanes are attached in such a manner that opening thereof can be changed, and a bias means biasing the assembly in a turbine shaft direction, and the assembly is joined to the turbine housing and is positioned only by the bias means. Consequently, the assembly can be positioned under a floating condition without completely fixing to a housing. Thermal deformation under the high temperature condition can be reduced, hesitant motion or the like of the vane are eliminated even if clearance between the vane and a shroud plate or the like is reduced, and turbo performance can be improved. <P>COPYRIGHT: (C)2009,JPO&INPIT</p> |
