PROBLEM TO BE SOLVED: To provide a sheet conveying apparatus capable of preventing non-conveyance of a sheet, the damage of an image, or the like even if using the sheet conveying apparatus to convey the sheet with an image formed on one face again into the image forming apparatus, and an image forming apparatus. SOLUTION: The sheet conveying device 30 comprising a main turning body 31 and a plurality of abutting turning bodies arranged in the circumferential direction of the main turning body 31 and abutting on the main turning body, conveys the sheet by nip parts of the abutting turning bodies and main turning body, wherein one of the plurality of abutting turning bodies is made a driving turning body 32 connected to a drive source, while the other abutting turning bodies are made driven turning bodies 33 driven by the driving turning body, and the main turning body 31 is driven by the driving turning body 32.
