PROBLEM TO BE SOLVED: To make it possible to simply carry out installation, stably regulate the water level and hardly cause trouble with saved energy. SOLUTION: An automatic water level regulator for a paddy field is obtained by providing a structure without causing trouble as follows: a weir adapter rubber capable of easily replacing a weir plate of an irrigation canal therewith is mounted on a weir body and a float switch for the upper and the lower limits is introduced into a float cover. An air vent hole is provided in the float cover. A shutter plate is vertically moved with a chain through a sprocket by a decelerator motor driven with a battery and slackness is formed in the chain with a tension sprocket and a tension spring even when foreign materials are caught.
