Class 20(3) [Also in Group XXV] The supporting device for mounting an adjustable wind deflector 1 for the sliding roof of a vehicle on the roof frame has a sliding device which in addition to allowing turning movement of the deflector in a vertical direction about the axis of its bearings, permits a movement of the deflector perpendicularly to the said axis and spring pressed into position in a notch 11, 12 in the mounting. A sliding device as shown, is mounted at each end of the deflector 1 and comprises a ball bolt 2, the spherical bolt end 3 of which is housed in a ball carrier on the mountings composed of parts 4, 5 inserted into the support 6. The parts each have a stud 7 engaging a corresponding recess 8 in the end 3, there being a relatively large clearance, the stud merely serving to retain the end of the bolt in the carrier and the mounting being effected by the points 9 of the carrier which lie annularly on the bolt-end. A screw thread 10 on the part 5 enables accurate adjustment of the bearing play. The deflector 1 is mounted on a pin 14 accommodated to slide in a continuous longitudinal bore 21 throughout the bolt and is pressed into one of the notches 11, 12 by a spring 15 located between a flange 16 on the pin and the opposite end of the bore. The pin 14, which has a recess 17, and the deflector 1 are clamped between plates 18, 19 and when the pin is withdrawn from the notches it may be turned in a vertical direction, the annular points 9 acting as bearings, into another position where on release it enters into the appropriate notch. |
