PROBLEM TO BE SOLVED: To provide a data transmitting and receiving system that transmits digital image data, which can transmit image data serial signals with synchronous control serial signals including a synchronous code that indicates a position of the image data, control data related to the image data and a control code that indicates a position of the control data, through one signal path.

SOLUTION: The data transmitting and receiving system that transmits digital image data has a parallel-serial conversion circuit 15 which converts image data parallel signals to image data serial signals, a data conversion circuit 101 which outputs synchronous control serial signals included with the synchronous code, the control data and the control code, and a differential amplitude signal transmitter (a transmitter 118 and a transistor 112) which converts the image data serial signals to differential amplitude signals to transmit them. The differential amplitude signal transmitter changes the amplitude of the differential amplitude signals of the image data serial signals corresponding to values of the synchronous control serial signals.
