PROBLEM TO BE SOLVED: To provide a method for producing a porous carbon board by which a thin porous carbon board is inexpensively mass-produced in such a manner that the occurrence of cracks and wrinkles is suppressed.
SOLUTION: The method is provided for producing a porous carbon board to which a nonwoven fabric composed of a carbon short fiber is bound with carbon, the method comprises: a compression molding step where a mixed body obtained by impregnating the nonwoven fabric with a carbonizable resin is stacked to three or more steps within a mold via a release material satisfying inequality (1), and the stacked mixed body is heated at 100 to 160°C under pressurization to be compression-molded so as to satisfy inequality (2); and a firing step where the obtained compression-molded part is subjected to carbonizing treatment to be formed into a porous carbon board having a thickness of 0.02 to 0.25 mm: -10<Y1<5, -10<Y2<5...(1) and -80<(Y1×Y2)/T<3...(2), wherein, T: the thickness [mm] of one compression-molded part obtained by subjecting the mixed body to compression molding; and Y1, Y2: the thermal shrinkage percentages (150°C×30 min)[%] in the longitudinal direction and horizontal direction, respectively, of the release material.
COPYRIGHT: (C)2009,JPO&INPIT |
