<p><P>PROBLEM TO BE SOLVED: To provide a bearing-measuring method for measuring the axial clearance of a bearing, for both cases when the value of the axial clearance is positive or negative. <P>SOLUTION: This bearing measuring instrument is equipped with an outer ring support 108 for supporting an outer ring 32; a shim 154 inserted into the axial clearance of the outer ring 32 to offset the axial clearance on the plus side; a pressure ring 118 for applying a load to the outer ring 32, an inner-ring push plate 138 connected to a rod 132 of an air cylinder 126; a spring 136 mounted on a bobbin 134 fixed on the rod 132 to give an elastic force via the push plate 138 to an inner ring 30; a detection shaft 142 disposed on top of the inner ring 30 to upward move in response to a lift of the inner ring 30; a detector 146 for detecting the amount of lifting that accompanies the movement of the detection shaft 142; and a measuring instrument 148 for calculating the axial clearance of the outer ring 32, from the detected value of the detector 146 and the value of an offset caused by the shim 154. <P>COPYRIGHT: (C)2009,JPO&INPIT</p> |
