PROBLEM TO BE SOLVED: To provide an imaging apparatus which prevents a failure where an object cannot be accommodated within a recorded image during photographing the object and which will not miss photographing opportunity. SOLUTION: During regular photographing, an image which includes an area of an image for composition confirmation and has a viewing angle wider than the area is acquired via a CCD area sensor 11. As a result, an object is easily included within the record image, even when the object deviates from the area of the image for composition confirmation during pressing operation of a shutter button.
