摘要 PROBLEM TO BE SOLVED: To provide an effective and appropriate vertically-base-isolated structure which has a bearing capacity great enough to cope with a vertical load of an upper structure, which has moderately-decreased vertical rigidity, and which has damping performance effective even for microamplitude. SOLUTION: At least one pair of approximately wedge-shaped movable members 3, either of the upper and lower portions of which is formed as an inclined plane inclined with respect to horizontality and the other portion of which is formed as a horizontal plane, is used, symmetrically arranged in the state of making one-side ends of both the movable members face each other, and interposed between the upper structure 1 and a lower structure 2. The inclined plane and horizontal plane of each movable member are supported in such a manner as to be horizontally displaceable with respect to the upper or lower structure by means of an inclined sliding bearing 4 and a horizontal sliding bearing 5. Thus, when vertical relative displacement occurs between the upper and lower structures, both the movable members can be displaced in a reverse horizontal direction in such a manner as to be brought into contact with/separated from each other, and the one-side ends of both the movable members are connected together by means of a spring element 6.
