<P>PROBLEM TO BE SOLVED: To provide an alkaline dry battery capable of sufficiently improving high-output pulse discharge performance without causing an adverse affect such as an abrupt temperature rise at the time of a short circuit of a battery and the generation of a leaked liquid. <P>SOLUTION: The alkaline dry battery comprises a cathode 3 including a cathode active material, an anode 6 including an anode active material, a separator 4, and an alkaline electrolyte. The anode active material includes zinc alloy powder containing calcium and bismuth. The zinc alloy powder includes calcium by 10 or higher to 60 or lower wt.% with respect to the bismuth, and includes the bismuth by 0.004 or higher to 0.02 or lower wt.%, and includes particles of 11 wt.% or higher of which the particle size is 75 micrometers or smaller. <P>COPYRIGHT: (C)2009,JPO&INPIT |
