摘要 PROBLEM TO BE SOLVED: To determine symbols to be stopped and displayed in a symbol display device without complicating processing concerning a symbol combination game. SOLUTION: The symbol patterns for determining the symbols to be stopped and displayed in a performance display device are determined based on variable patterns and square formation modes (the number of symbol strings). Concerning the symbol pattern, a difference which is based on the variable (arrayal) order of the symbols in each symbol string with the symbol at a reference symbol position as reference when defining one of symbol stop areas as the reference symbol position for each symbol pattern, is determined for each other symbol stop area. Consequently, even when the plurality of square formation modes are included and also a configuration where the number of symbols to be stopped and displayed is different for each mode is adopted, the whole patterns are not held, where the symbols to be stopped and displayed for each symbol stop area are respectively determined. Then, the symbols to be stopped and displayed in the whole symbol stop areas are collectively determined only by determining the reference symbol, based on the symbol pattern.
