PROBLEM TO BE SOLVED: To provide a production technology of charcoal powder based on thermal decomposition of wooden materials for performing uniform quality carbonization and allowing mass production by using conifer timber, which is mainly from forest thinning of a cedar or a cypress existing most abundantly in the country, as materials and forming the materials into cut chips (chips for pulp paper manufacture). SOLUTION: Using the cut chips not blocking an oxygen supply passage, a half of the total feeding amount of the material is previously fed to be used as a preparation bed, and after ignition, the remaining half is fed sequentially, so that a carbonization course is advanced in two directions toward the preparation bed and the additional feeding from an ignition point.
