PROBLEM TO BE SOLVED: To suppress an increase of a substrate size; to suppress irregularity in substrate temperature; and to achieve an excellent black display around an effective display region, in a liquid crystal display device provided with a digital-analogue conversion circuit. SOLUTION: An liquid crystal display device includes: an active matrix substrate 22 having display regions 27 and 28 where a plurality of pixels 10 containing liquid crystals are arranged, and a plurality of the digital-analogue conversion circuit 16 that converts inputted digital signals into analog signals for driving the pixels 10; and a light shield 26 that has an opening. The display regions 27 and 28 has: the effective display region 27; and a black display region 28 arranged around the effective display region 17, wherein an outside edge of the opening is located in the black display region 18. The plurality of the digital-analogue conversion circuit 16 is located at positions of overlapping the pixels 10 in the black display region 18 that is located outside the opening, that is, at the facing positions by sandwiching the effective display region 17.
