摘要 <p><P>PROBLEM TO BE SOLVED: To provide an image processing apparatus and method that enables high-speed generation of a motion-compensated (MC) image. <P>SOLUTION: The image processing apparatus calculates a relative position between a pixel position of a pixel, constituting the motion-compensated (MC) image and the pixel position of a reference pixel of a reference image to be used for calculating a pixel value of the pixel, perform quantization processing of the calculated relative position, and generates a motion-compensated image, by calculating a pixel value of a constituent pixel of the motion compensation image, on the basis of the quantized relative position and the pixel value of the reference pixel. Furthermore, since quantized relative positions are set equal in units of a plurality of pixels through averaging processing and copying processing on quantized-relative-position information to perform pixel value calculation to which SIMD is applied, the pixel values of the motion compensated image can be calculated at a high speed and efficient motion compensated image generation is realized. <P>COPYRIGHT: (C)2009,JPO&INPIT</p>
