RECORDING MEDIUM, RECORDING UNIT, REPRODUCING UNIT, AND RECORDING METHOD

PROBLEM TO BE SOLVED: To provide a recording medium which stores moving image data, by which a variety of modification can be applied at the transition between reproduction sections while recovery is assured when editing fails.

SOLUTION: An end vicinity of a preceding reproduction section and a beginning vicinity of a subsequent reproduction section are duplicated. A variety of modification for a visual effect is applied to this duplicated part. Cell information specifying the preceding reproduction section includes a Temp_Cell_FLAG. When it is set to "1", it indicates reproduction of a part before the end vicinity and a part after the beginning vicinity via the duplicated part specified by the Temp_Cell information. The Cell information includes Trimming_End_PTM indicating picture data located immediately before the end vicinity and Trimming_Start_PTM indicating picture data located immediately after the begging vicinity.
